Prague National Theatre
The Prague National Theatre is known as the alma mater of Czech opera and the national monument of Czech art and history.
The theatre was originally constructed in 1868 thanks to collections of money from among the Czech people and first opened on 11 June 1881 to honour the visit of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria.
Since its opening, the theatre has became affiliated with some of the most important cultural institutions in the Czech Republic. A rich artistic tradition was created and maintained for the theatre by the most distinguished personalities in Czech society to help to preserve and develop the Czech language and the musical and dramatic way of thinking.
